Celebratory lunch for KBS student Anne Hoffstatter at Ohana’s Cafe where she is having her first one-person art show during May 2019, Petition St., Saugerties, NY. She has an array of subjects ranging from realism to abstraction. Anne will give a demonstration of the pouring technique for abstracts with ink on Aug. 6, 2019 Tuesday at 7 pm at the Senior Center, 207 Market Street, Saugerties, NY. UCAA Ulster County Art Assn. Meeting April 2, 2019 Tuesday

Members of the UCAA club are welcome to paint along with demonstrator Kristy Bishop at our April meeting. Membership dues: $25 may be collected on the evening of April 2, Tuesday to be able to participate; although, guests are welcome to attend and watch the demo.

On May 7, 2019, Fred Di Vito will our featured guest speaker and presenter of his art to the club. See: ulsterartistsonline.org/user/453

KBS 29th Annual Art Show for Students

Two examples of oil paintings by students at the Kristy Bishop Studio, 147 Market Street, Saugerties, NY. Students range in age from 6 – 91 and there will be at least 85 works of art on exhibition at the reception. Art judge for the awards ceremony: Joyce Washor, Active Member of the Woodstock Art Assn. & Museum, professional artist and author. Guests may attend the reception and ceremony which is free and open to the public.

Kristy Bishop Studio 11th Annual Holiday Art Show was hosted by Barbara Farcher owner at Lox of Bagels during the months of Dec. 2018 – Jan. 2019. A Reception and Popular Vote Contest was held on Friday Dec. 14, 2018. Over 100 votes were cast during the reception from 6 – 7 pm and counted by former art students: Katelyn Noecker and Shelby DeWeever. 25 KBS students exhibited their paintings at this show (ages 6 – 91).

The Ulster County Art Assn. held a contest on Feb. 5, 2019 at the Senior Center, 207 Market Street, Saugerties, NY.  Eight members of the club participated. Each were given a great critique of their artwork by art judge Elisa Tucci, Saugerties Central School District art teacher since 1999. She received her BFA from SUNY Purchase and her Master’s Degree from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. She chose Rosalba Prizzia’s painting (pictured here) for the Best of Show Award.

Sandra Pysher will be giving a Tonal Painting demonstration at the UCAA Ulster County Art Assn. meeting Tuesday Sept. 4 at 7:15 pm (following a short business meeting at 7 pm) at the Senior Center, 207 Market Street, Saugerties, NY. She has won numerous regional art awards in Greene County during the past several years. UCAA meets every first Tuesday of each month with the exception of the second Tuesday on November 13, 2018. Saugerties Artists Studio Tour Reception at the Barn

A photo of Jimi Hendrix was projected on a screen behind the Chris Bergson Band at The Falcon (night club) in Marlboro, NY. I took this opportunity to capture men with their passions in the form of this oil painting – it is one in a series of People with their Passions in Life.

There will be a Saugerties Artists Studio Tour reception for the public at the barn gallery behind the Kiersted House on  119 Main Street, Saugerties, NY on Friday July 13 at 5 – 7 pm. One work of art by each of the 45 artists on the tour will be exhibited through July 29, 2018…Saturdays  11 – 5 pm and Sundays 1 – 5 pm. The public is welcome to attend.
